The fuel savings are definitely real, I probably fill up half as often as I did with my old car, and it's great for the stop start traffic around Barsha and the Marina where the electric motor does most of the work. But I've also learned the hard way that you can't just treat them exactly like normal cars and ignore the hybrid specific stuff. Had a bit of a scare last summer when the fuel economy suddenly dropped and I panicked thinking the battery was dying, turned out it was just some cooling fan issues that needed cleaning, but it made me realize I needed to educate myself better. Found this really helpful guide online that covers everything about Keeping your hybrid car in top condition specifically for our climate, from battery care to the right driving habits to extend component life. Really helped me understand what to watch out for and when to take things seriously versus when it's just normal stuff. Just thought I'd share for anyone else who's new to hybrids here, it's worth learning the specifics rather than just treating it like a regular car and hoping for the best.
